The business is planning properly for the future.
With three Directors and a strong, stable workload, the next step is bringing in a Principal Electrical Engineer who can:
Deliver technically at the highest level
Take ownership of key client relationships
Gradually step into leadership and equity as part of a structured succession plan
This isn’t about “winning work at all costs”.
It’s about continuity, trust, and long-term thinking.
Yes, you must be technically excellent. That’s a given.
But as a Principal, you’ll also:
Act as a trusted advisor to Building Services clients
Maintain and grow long-standing relationships
Help shape workload, not scramble for it
Mentor senior engineers and influence standards
Contribute to the strategic direction of the business
You’ll still be hands-on, just at the level where your judgement really matters.
There are two supported pathways, and both are properly funded:
Technical Pathway
Progress through Principal level
Achieve Fellow recognition with Engineers Australia
Be recognised as a subject-matter expert
Leadership / Ownership Pathway
Move into Director-level responsibilities
Take on client, people, and business leadership
Buy into the business with genuine equity upside
To be clear on the upside:
A 10% shareholding has the potential to generate $100,000 per annum on top of salary.
Senior/Principal-level electrical building services experience
Strong client-facing capability and professional credibility
The maturity to represent the business externally
Interest in long-term leadership, not short-term titles
Structured equity opportunity as part of succession planning
Stability, consistency, and zero sales pressure culture
Direct influence over projects, clients, and future direction
A realistic path to Director or Partner, not vague promises
Interested but not actively looking? That’s expected.
